Vanuatu Long Weekend Dive Escape: itinerary and price

The published Thursday-to-Monday escape has four nights, seven guided dives and an Abyss instructor travelling from Sydney. The advertised A$1,995 per diver is twin-share and land-only. The itinerary below shows the intended rhythm; the local team may change its site sequence and timing for conditions and flights.

What does the A$1,995 include?

Four nights in twin-share accommodation, seven guided dives, tanks and weights, between-dive snacks, four continental breakfasts, four dinners including the night-dive BBQ, nominated-group-flight airport transfers, a planned Monday Blue Hole or comparable local activity, a trip T-shirt, a Sydney-based Abyss trip leader and a pre-trip meeting are listed. What will I pay for separately?

International flights, required insurance, lunches, drinks not listed, most personal dive equipment hire, an optional Advanced course, any available optional eighth dive, a single-room supplement and personal activities are extra. A recently certified Abyss diver may qualify for the conditional equipment-hire bonus; it does not include mask, fins or boots.

What happens on the Monday Blue Hole outing?

Abyss Vanuatu usually plans to leave at about 7 am for the Blue Hole, where guests can swim and use rope swings, then travel on to Port Vila Airport. The trip page allows an equivalent local experience if plans change. Confirm the day’s pickup, activity and flight fit with Abyss; a guest continuing to Santo on a separate Monday flight may need to shorten or miss this outing.

Who is the instructor on my trip?

An experienced Abyss instructor travels with each group, but the named leader rotates. The trip page lists the instructor team and says the leader for your specific dates will be confirmed before travel. The leader helps with the pre-trip meeting, group routines and support, while the local operation selects and guides appropriate dive sites.

Is the night dive compulsory?

The Friday guided night dive is included in the published seven-dive program. If you are nervous about night diving, tell Abyss before booking so the instructor can explain the planned briefing, buddy approach and suitability. Do not assume that declining it creates a refund or a replacement dive; ask how your individual situation would be handled.

Can I add an eighth dive?

The trip page mentions one additional dive at extra cost if timing, space and conditions permit. It is optional and is not one of the included seven. Ask Abyss whether it is possible for your chosen departure, what it costs and how it fits around safe dive scheduling.

Are the flights or airport transfer included?

International flights are excluded. Return transfers between Port Vila Airport and the accommodation are included for the nominated group flights. After you pay the A$500 deposit, wait for Abyss’s written confirmation that minimum numbers and accommodation are secured and for its nominated flight advice before buying tickets.

What is the minimum group size or maximum number?

The page states a maximum of 12 divers. It also says the trip depends on minimum numbers being secured but does not publish a number in the general offer. Abyss confirms whether your particular departure is going ahead; an ‘In Stock’ display is not that confirmation.

When do I pay the rest?

The Long Weekend page says the A$500 deposit reserves your request and the balance is due 60 days before departure. Review the checkout amount and written invoice for your departure. Confirm flight, room, eligibility and cancellation details with Abyss before making non-refundable outside arrangements.
